Another day...

Friday, 21/2/2008, another bengkel to go to. I had finished mine ‘metal hand work’ project. Today, we changed our ‘target’ to welding. It was fun to me, though, some of my friends don’t really like it, and they said it was boring. I was sure enjoying myself there although I got a little wound at my hand.

One thing dangerous about welding is the ‘light’ produced by the sparks I think. The light is too bright for our human eyes and it will hurt our eyes. So we have to put a mask on when we’re doing the process. The thing was the mask is covered with a black or a very dark protection. You can’t see anything when you put it on (not actually wearing it but holding it). We can only see when we start welding.

Tools needed for welding:

  • brush
  • hammer
  • gloves
  • holder
  • mask- very very important if not later eyes will be very very painful
  • machine thingy...
  • NERVES... hehehe...

After the workshop, I need to go to the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka to look for information on my ‘Tamadun Islam’ topic, but the luck was not with us as when we reached there, it was already closed for lunch. Can you imagine that, closed at 11.30am. Haiz… So we have to return to UMS.

At 3p.m to 5 p.m., I had my Math Discrete class. I was so sleepy at that time. After class, I had a BBQ dinner at my friends house (my ‘da ye’ in the ye family). Before that, I need to fetch her at SSMP (one of the school/faculty in UMS) because her shoes terputus already. Aiyaya… Kesian her n me too… hehehe… After that, we went to the house and start helping them. We went to refill water, buy 7-up and fetch ba ye… kesian me… jadi driver the whole day…

Anyway, I was one of the ‘barbequer’ of that day. I help to barbeque and I’m proud to day that the chicken wings I ‘siew’ was delicious. I ate quite a lot of things, sausages, chicken wings, a little corn, and watermelons. When I reached hostel I quickly bath then get onto the bed and I don’t even wash my hair…

I sure was tired as it was a tiring day for me but I really enjoyed the time. Oh, no… Tomorrow I still have a mid term test which I haven’t read… matilah this time… but anyway, thanks ya ‘the Ye Familia’ for the memorable moments, n ba ye for the ang pow… He is the ‘father’ of the family and he really distributed ang pow to his ‘daughthers’ and ME

Sceneries fromKudat...

Since the previous i post a lot of myself... now let me share with you all the beautiful sceneries from Kudat...
the rocks were erode by the sea water, but it sure have beautiful 'shape'...
waves, beaches and the TIP...
it's sunset...

A memorable trip...

After reunion dinner the night before Chinese New Year, I sure had a plan for CNY since I’m not home for this celebration. Some of my course mates and I planned to go to Kudat, one of an attractive place in SABAH. We start our journey at 11 o’clock. There were 8 of us going.

Let me give you guys a piece of an advice. Remember to go to toilet before you start any of your journeys in Sabah. The road from one place to another is very long, and you can hardly see a ‘rumah rehat’ or even a toilet. Usually the journey is more than 3 hours, and all around you are trees and bushes. So, better go before it’s too late…

Back to the trip, we reached Kudat at almost 3 o’clock. Since it’s first day of CNY, most of the shops didn’t open for business. Luckily there is one KFC there, so our lunch was KFC. Before that, I forgot to mention, we did stop at a ‘long house’, the traditional house of the Sabahan and Sarawakian.

Actually we need to pay in order to have a look, but since we asked a lot of question regarding a home stay there, the people let us in to have a look and take photographs (this is a great idea to get a ‘free’ trip… hehehe…). So after our KFC, we checked-in into one hotel. I’m sharing a room with May Chin (have to ‘ma poh’ with her). Then we headed for the ‘Tip of Borneo’ or in malay ‘Simpang Mengayau’. The journey took around one hour plus. I slept during the journey there. The road there was not tar completely and certain parts of the roads were only small rocks. So the journey was quite ‘rocky’ and luckily I was asleep, if not sure have headache.

We reached the Tip at about 5. The view was amazing. It was really beautiful and magnificent. I was really attracted by the beautiful scene there. The only thing I don’t like it there was the strong wind which blows my hair like crazy people. At around 6 plus, I managed to watch the beautiful sunset. The sun was like the egg yolk of the duck’s egg. The scene was really romantic for couples. After that, we went for dinner. That dinner really cost us a lot as we went during 1st day of CNY. Each and every one of us needs to pay RM 15 although we don’t really order much. Then, we headed back to ‘oik oik’… hehehe…

The next day, we had our breakfast before we checked out. The ‘char siew pau’ there was not bad, because I really never tried a delicious ‘char siew pau’ in Sabah. After that, we went to the bee farm. It was my bad hair day because I was stung by a bee, somewhere near my left eye. Luckily I don’t have a swollen eye but it was really painful. We also went to the ‘gong making village’. They have a name for the kampung but I forgot what was it already. After visiting all these places, our final destination was of course U.M.S.

final word... it's great experience and beautiful memories... thanks guys....
I'm sure to 'conquer' it again

REuniON DinnER

Reunion dinner (tun yuin fan)… Every Chinese New Year’s Eve, Chinese people will ‘organised’ this dinner among the family member. It’s to ensure that all of the family gather around and eat together as a family…

hehehe… what am I crapping?? Each year, the CNY eve will be the busiest day of the year. This year is not an exception. But, the only different is I wasn’t there to help. I didn’t went back to my hometown (which is PENANG) to celebrate CNY… sooo sad… but that was my choice so can’t really grumble about it.

Anyhow, today, I want to talk about the ‘reunion dinner’ that I had in Sabah. Since I was so bored, I planned to organize a small reunion dinner at my room with some of my course mates. So, I planned to cook steamboat, a tom yam steamboat. May Chin and I go to ‘Servay’ to buy all the ingredients we needed.

Actually we are not supposed to cook in the room… so shhh… (don’t tell anyone ya) hehehe… We really had a multi-racial reunion dinner. There were of course, May Chin and I the Chinese, and then we had Malay (Fida and Azrin) and Meera (the Indian). I force every single of them to use the chopsticks during the dinner. We taught them the correct way to use chopsticks.

All of us really enjoyed the dinner and of course the tom yam steamboat. After the dinner, we watched movie. The title of the movie is ‘condemned’. After the movie, everyone went back to their own room to have their rest. The only thing we missed was distributing ‘ang pow’. Since we all are too young, so no one can give any ang pow…

Although can’t celebrate CNY eve with my family, but I was sure having a good time here. And one more thing to tell, my family and I had dinner at the same time, so I can consider have reunion dinner with them too… hahaha…

it taste better than it looks... serious

looks like i'm having fun...'distributing' to others...

washing time(i'm so naughty)

Time to eat...

CulTuRAL shOW

On Sunday night (3/2/2008), I went to the ‘City Cultural Extravaganza’ organized by the DBKK (Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu). The show will be held on 3rd, 4th and 5th of February.

They have a lot of cultural performances from different part of the world such as Ireland, Spain, Scotland, Poland, Kenya, Ukraine, Brazil, New Zealand and of course from our country itself.

The show was supposed to start on 7.30 p.m. but it started quite late (around 8.10 p.m.). The opening dance was performed by local Sabahan, and the interesting part was, the performers were kids (age range 5-10). The opening was amazing and of course cute…

After that, we were entertained by the performers from different parts of the world. The dance I liked the most was the dance performed by the Spanish. They were really amazing. The shows ended at almost 12 midnight. The spectators were given the opportunity to take photographs with the dancers. Overall, I really enjoyed the show.
